Westmoreland County - VIRGINIA

My fossil collecting partner (Buddy the dog) and I went down to the Potomac in Westmoreland County VA where I have often found some fine teeth. We scaled down the cliff and began to work the gravel. Soon I found some nice hemis and the cetacean tooth. After walking a couple of miles we headed back working the surf and found some more nice but not exciting Miocene fossils. About 100 ft prior to scaling back up the cliff, I walked up to talus at the base of the cliff to relieve myself. As I was reaching for my zipper, I noticed a meg root and several serrations right in the spot where I was going to urinate. First things first, I exhumed the tooth and washed it off in the surf. Buddy came up when he heard my excitement and I showed it to him. The meg made our day.
