Is that area just a buildup of sediments, or is there another explanation for so many artifacts in that area. Was there a large village nearby?

There is a massive buildup of sediment but there had to be a camp of some kind nearby. Too much pottery, broken tools, percussion flakes, etc. The spots just around the bends on both sides are basically devoid of artifacts in comparison. i can't wait to see what comes out next season!
