A Helping Hand from a Big FriendI'm in one of those phases where I am fossil hunting in all of my spare time. Not much time to post, but I'm doing my best. One of the places we've been hunting is the new Miocene-Pliocene spot. We haven't found any really big complete shark teeth out there lately, but we've been finding quality and who doesn't prefer that? There hasn't been any new digging in a while, so hopefully when that starts back up we can find some big stuff, too. This post is a compilation of several trips, a couple surface collecting hunts and one sifting trip with t$, da fossz, and company. I finally turned up the first whale tooth out there - kogiopsis, specifically. The list of species collected there is growing each trip. On a separate note, the last time we went out, my truck got stuck in the mud and we had to get some help. We filmed the rather unorthodox recovery of my vehicle. Enjoy!
