A Whale of a Day

With the great weather going on, it was a spectacular time to venture to the river. With our gear together, the Weezil and I headed out.

We ended up going two days in a row. On the first day, i went down, and 3 hours later, came up with a few small teeth, but also, three whale teeth. Not a great day compared to dw's finds.

Then on the second day, similar events transpired. Very few teeth. However, a good 30 minutes or so into my dive, i pulled out a partial Archaeocete Whale tooth. After another 5 or 10 minutes, i found another, which was soon followed my a double rooted Squalodon. As i trekked along the bottom, fanning sand away, out comes a nearly complete, 3 inch Archaeocete Whale tooth!! I immediately surfaced to place it on better grounds. Whilst i was doing this, ditchweezil tried to move in on my spot. Yet, he failed.

After my return to the river bed, i found yet another fragment of an Archaeocete. Then, another Squalodon.

So, my day at the river, some may call epic, others, legendary. But in the life of the megamouth, its just another day.

In my opinion, this is the most you ever racked megamouth! That whale tooth is incredible. I love the serrations that run along the edge near the tip. Oh - and I did not steal your spot. As I recall, you said "A little help. I lost my mask. Can you get it for me?" If that's not carte blanche to poke around for a second, I don't know what is! And anyway, I went back to my spot soon thereafter, humbled by your herculean recoveries. Content Quality : 10 of 10
