Civil War Clay Pipe

This is my first ever clay pipe. I found it in the Edisto River while diving for fossil shark teeth. Right on the spot, da fossz said he thought it was Civil War era.

I did a little research and found out this kind was used with a reed which was inserted into the smaller hole. I found some relic sites with clay pipes, but none exactly like this one.

On a recent trip to Jedi Master's house, I saw that he found one exactly like this one. He dated it somewhere between the 1840s to the 1860s. Finally, BRF member wedigdixie pinpointed it between 1848 and 1864 and said since it was from South Carolina, its definitely Civil War. Needless to say, I'm very excited with this find.
