A great weekend for toothn..I was planning on looking for new spots today so I headed out with the hopes of finding a spot with potential to hunt for teeth. After scouting a few ditches and finding a few broken pieces I walked down an embankment and started looking around the bottom. I found a few hemipristis and some broken and heavily worn teeth, but nothing spectacular. I was out of water fast as it was hot and humid which is of course normal for SC so I decided to head back. I saw an Angustiden sticking out of the side and pulled it out and saw it was broken. I started to say something and then looked to my left about two feet. I saw a tip, but it wasn't a tooth..it was a pointed rock. I put my finger and pushed some of the dirt away. I realized this wasn't natural so I pulled on it and 3-7/16 inches of an Archaic Period Spear came out. All I could say was WOW ! This spear was used by ancient man when Woolly Mammoths roamed South Carolina 10,000 year ago. I'm one lucky hunter !
