Not a Bad Start to the New Year!!!!

Well I haven't been around so much but I have been doing some exploring lately now that I have a boat.  My whole world has just tripled with where I can go fossil hunting.  Even though I have the boat I decided to hit one of my favorite spots along the river on January 3rd since I had the day off from work.  This day was going to be a real good blow out and I really wanted to go to the bay but I knew that the boat wouldn't be able to handle waves like that.  Boy am I glad that I didn't.... Well to start the day I started to walk the beach and wasn't finding that much.  I must have walked between 2-3 miles with nothing but a couple small teeth.  So I decided to turn around and make the long walk back.  I must have walked about 100 yards back and I looked at the cliff to see if there was anything sticking out.  Then I saw the blade of a decent sized tooth.  I looked at it for a second and thought it was a Mako but I started to second guess myself because I could see the hook to the blade.  Could it be?  So I made my way closer and realized what it was that I found.  My first Giant Thresher and it looked like it was going to be perfect.  I crossed my fingers and prayed that it was the whole time I was preparing to take it out of its resting spot.  To my surprise it was just about perfect and my day was made.  I continued to make my way to my vehicle and started to find more teeth but I couldn't keep my mind off of the Giant Thresher that I had found.  One other thing that was neat was I found the other half of a tooth that I found almost 2 years ago and the two halves actually matched.  That is why I always keep all my halves.  Overall not a bad start the the New Year and hopefully it continues to be just like this or better.
