first trip to Peace River

So when we decided a few months ago to go to Florida for vacation, I knew I had to get to the Peace River for at least one day.  Though I had been fossil hunting in Florida before, this was my first ever trip to the Peace River and so I was pretty excited.  Instead of fumbling around and wasting time finding a spot, we decided to book a trip with Mark Renz/Megalodon Expeditions.  It was a great time and I really enjoyed meeting Mark.
Luckily the weather held up (except for one small shower that we just waited out).  We sifted mostly in one area in deep water that kept us cool the entire day.
Anyway, we found a good deal of teeth and fossils.  The highlight for me was two tiny (possible neonate) megs.  One has a broken root, but the other is in perfect condition with nice colors.  The smallest in my collection and so a great addition!  Hopefully I'll be able to hunt on the Peace again and maybe I'll add the biggest meg to my collection next time.  My phone broke previous to this, so unfortunately I don't have any "as found" pictures.

Thanks John, good to hear from you! Yeah it was a great time, I recommend it. I know Mark visits a number of different sites, but the one we went to was in Wauchula. I can give you more details over email if you are interested.

Glad to here you had a great time. As good as the teething is around here, I would love to come to the Peace river sometime too. The river clarity sure is better than here! Content Quality : 10 of 10
