Design a T-Shirt for Black River Fossils Contest
I have t-shirts from lots of fossil clubs and web sites and I am continually asked why there isn't one for Black River Fossils. I have wanted one for a while, and I finally tried to make one earlier this year, and it was a dismal failure because my art skills are ... Well, lets just say I don't have any art skills.
But I'm not a quitter, so I tried my hand again at the design, only this time I armed myself with a camera instead of jumbo crayons. I laid out a whole bunch of teeth on a piece of posterboard and I spent hours positioning hundreds of teeth, trying to fit in at least one of every single South Carolina species I had with a minimum of white space. The photo is awesome, and I even used it as my desktop for a while. A week after I put all the teeth away, I added 3 new SC species to my collection, so my completion drive required me to retake the picture with the new species. Luckily, before I spent all that time re-positioning the teeth, the t-shirt printers emailed me and said my photo was too detailed and most of the teeth would be imperceptable dots. Dejected, I gave up hope of designing the t-shirt myself.
Now that the dark times are behind me, I decided to have a design contest. I went through the collection and pulled out some really nice stuff to give out as a prize to the person who came up with the best design. I'm looking for a design for the back of the shirt - the site logo will go on the front. * Note * There is no longer a South Carolina theme requirement. You can make your design about anything fossil related.
This contest is now over.

The T-Shirt Design Contest WinnerThanks to all who entered the Black River Fossils T-Shirt design contest. We got some really good designs and it was a hard decision, but here's the winning design, submitted by Butrell who was nice enough to give me one for two different colored shirts. I'll be leaving many a muddy pits with these shirts covered with dirt.
