shark rostral nodeThe photos are from a trip to the James River in Surry County about a year ago. Picked it up because of the odd shape and the fact that it looked like something. Just recently identified it as shark rostral node, basically the fossilized snout of the shark. Seems to be pretty rare that this part fossilizes.
