5 1/2" Megalodon Shark ToothThis is probably one of the top 5 teeth I've ever found. Its a killer - serrations, tip, bourlette, root, good color, its got them all. For a SC land tooth, this is a rare find indeed! I think the thing that kept this tooth so preserved was the amount of iron oxide and sand caked on the outside of this tooth. There was one chunk on the back as big as a marble. I had to grind it off, and it looked just like I was grinding a bolt. One of the wierdest things I've ever seen. You can still see the remnant of the iron chunk on the back of the tooth as a little oval mark on the left side of the root.
