3 1/2" Fossil Megalodon Shark ToothHere is the first complete megalodon tooth I found today while diving. Its surprising that it has the serrations and tip - Cooper river megalodon teeth are usually quite worn. This one actually looks more like a land found tooth with the marbling on the back of the tooth.

The tooth is complete - there is some kind of deposit all over the root that is like cement. I couldn't get it off with a dental pick. I guess it stays on as a permanent fixture. It could be pyrite, but I don't know for sure. |
