33" Petrified WoodThis is a huge peice of petrified wood weighing in at 48 pounds and almost 3 ft long this is the biggest peice I've dug out of the hawthrone layer. I'm guessing a find like this is really rare because I've never seen or heard of anyone else pulling out petrified wood from the hawthrone layer digging that was as big as mine.

Some areas still has some layer attached and is really hard to get off. I'm still in the process of cleaning it up. |
