BRFC Day At PCSThe day started off at the bus area signing papers before entering the mine. I met rivrdigr for the first time who was showing off his nice little great white he found at GMR the day before. Then the BRFC hoped on to the bus and on the way to the collecting area we went. I was a newbie to the mine and found myself only familiar with collecting teeth from the pungo and I wasted a lot of time hunting over the james city formation and I couldn’t really tell what the yorktown formation looked like, but I asked Ditchweezil what it looked like after the hunt was over so it was really useless information at the time, but better luck next time. I was in awe as I watched 2thh00ver uncover a sweet mako right next to me and later on he found a large meg in the limestone with tip exposed, but it was busted up after he unearthed it. As I was walking an area with blocks of limestone I found what looked to be half of a whale skull or it could have been just a bunch of bones, which is pictured below. I didn’t keep it because it was too heavy to carry out and I didn’t see any teeth exposed. If anyone has any idea of what it is by looking at the picture send me some information I would appreciate it. I ended up finding a bunch of nice small teeth and found a descent cow shark tooth that was hidden under the side of a rock I forgot to take a ground photo. I can’t wait to go back even though I didn’t find anything too great this trip. It was fun experience and getting to collect with part of the BRFC made it even better.
