BRFC Day At PCSOur little group of hunters was granted 5 slots by the supreme slot-giver-outer and we used every one of them. Aurora is too good to waste any opportunity to go in. I had no delusions that this trip would be as productive as last month's, but I was excited nevertheless. The forecast was for heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon, and we hoped it would hold off long enough for us to get a full day of hunting in. Its a long drive up there! Anyway, the mostly cloudy skies made for great collecting conditions. We got dropped on the same side of the pit as last time I went, but the guides said this was the first time in weeks that this side had been hunted. We dropped down the ramp, and sure enough, no footprints. Still, weeks of collecting had taken their toll. The hills were only stocked with teeth, unlike last time when they were dripping with teeth. Pungo was everywhere, and I do like hunting it. I like the security of coming home with hundreds of teeth. Everytime I saw Yorktown I hunted it, but on this side of the pit there just wasn't much. 2thh00ver scored a killer Yorktown megalodon, and I was absolutely stunned at his beginner's luck. He's a good hunter, though, and it makes sense that he would do well in a place where patience and a good eye usually pay off big. t$ found a bunch of little ones just like me. I didn't see what scubapaul and rivrdigr found because they had to leave early to catch flights home. Gotta love the dedication of those two. It was good to see everyone again, and as if I need to say it, I'm already looking forward to my next trip in.

Not a bad haul for this late in the season. The big megalodon and chubutensis are the stuff that makes devout toothers cry. |
