Have it your wayWith some good fortune the BRFC trip to PCS was not only on, but served with a side order of rain. I headed down to Summerville to meet up with BRFC-ers DW, the brothers “K”, or BK for short. We managed to dodge tornadoes but still a wild ride up to Washington. The day was cloudy but with rain earlier in the week, it was on!! I headed out and started walking toward promising hills…I found nice exposures of Pung-town and York-city (mixed up formations, for those who are not familiar with my fossil vernacular). Finally I walked up on a hill of Yorktown and I sat my bag down for a precision hunt. I bagged some nice tigers, makos, and a whale tooth. Then, I spied the edge of a meg…slowly dug it out and then gravy mode. Avec smile, I ran into DW who had also bagged a nice meg. In our situation, it was not prudent to show our finds, but rather to mutter unpleasant words about shells and then collect more. I found another nice 3” meg followed by a small, but wickedly curved chub. I met up with the BK boys, and T$ had a “whopper” of a find….22 associated whale teeth and some coral. We headed back to the bus to dodge the raindrops. Everyone had a nice time, and thanks to PCS for the opportunity to collect!!
