Fossil Coral

I'm not sure what species this is, nor do I know how old it is, but it sure is cool looking! I always wanted a whole piece of coral, seeing how beautiful they look on reefs, but I didn't want to kill one just to put it on my shelf. Plus I think its illegal to pick them anyway. But now I have a nice piece of fossil coral, and I'm happy. I would appreciate any identification information that anyone has.
