A Green Mill Run ChaserOn Sunday, DW decided to try our luck at Green Mill Run. I had collected there in my pre-BRFC days, so I thought I would be a useful BRFC paleo-bud and lead the trip. This site is interesting…Cretaceous fauna are found here as well as Pliocene fauna. The creek is known for its crow shark and great white (extant) teeth. We were armed with leaky boots and 94-cent sifters. DW and myself worked a small area for about an hour and pulled out some belemnoids and small teeth. Later in morning we located some deeper gravel beds and were picking up more teeth. DW scored first with a nice crow shark tooth. But just before the Bell beckoned, I pulled out a sweet crow shark tooth. After refueling at the Bell, my fossil rampage continued. I pulled out some shamer great whites, and finally scored a nice 1-1/2 incher. We both sifted for a few more hours and added a good number of smaller teeth and belemnoids. DW had gotten his 94 cents worth out of his new sifter, or maybe he made some pasta when he got home. On the way out, the leaky boots I planted in the garbage were being studied by a fellow. I wonder if the dude who pulled my boots out of garbage has wet feet? Better yet, I wonder if he read my post!!!!
