Super Bowl Week in Super SummervilleMy mid-winter trip to Summerville started by going to the Lowcountry Fossil Show at Cypress Gardens on January 26. After seeing old friends and fellow fossil collectors, I quickly made plans with Sharkdentist, Aeromike and Mudkicker for some serious digging. We went to a couple of lands sites, but only came up with a few small teeth. The rest of the week I was on my own. Saturday, January 31 was the next day we could all get out. I found my first Notornchus Primigenius tooth and a Croc vert along with some gorgeous small Makos and Angys. Sunday was also good a Parotodus Benedeni and a Squalodon tooth. Monday, Ozzyrules came down from North Carolina and the luck continued, a 2 9/16" Isurus Desori came from the second basket. Two more Squalodon teeth followed, one small and one big. Ten days pass so fast and I had to return to Pa. on February 4. Another great visit with good friends in the Lowcountry.
