Return to a favorite spot...Well it was Sunday and cooler so I decided I was going digging ! Upon getting no return calls from my fellow hunters...who apparantly were sleeping in and taking it easy... I was off to one of my favorite dig sites. I had a feeling as I was driving I was going to find something nice...you know the kind ! Upon arriving I noticed the past rains had caused an embankment to collapse so I grabbed my shovel and entered into dig mode. After about 30 minutes I hit a big stubborn whale bone and when I pulled it out of the layer a big triangle shape dropped down. I was chanting in my head...please don't be another bone...and when I picked it up I knew it was a meg. And it was fully serrated. Summerville megalodons are rarely serrated and usually have smooth serrations if any at all. This tooth measues 4-13/16ths inches long and has made me one happy digger !
