Octoberfest 2008--Found and almost lostOctober 8th finally came and we arrived back in the lowcountry for 10 days of digging and some good old R&R. I hunted alone for a few days until the weekend and was joined by sharkdentist and mudkicker. I rained from Friday until Sunday and the creeks were high and not fossil digging friendly. We did manage a few teeth but switched to land sites to change our luck. The rest of the week brought a few nice makos, angys and small megs. With great anticipation Saturday finally came. My first trip to LaFarge. The big pit was not kind to this rookie. It rained all morning and my finds were meager. A few shark verts and small makos were all I could muster. The afternoon was much better. We went to a ditch that I have neglected for a few years and scored. A 4 3/4" meg and a 2 1/2" angy back to back in two baskets of material. It was a great 10 days with the help of sharkdentist, mudkicker, ozzyrules and aeromike. See y'all in January. So much for the found. We went to sharkdentist's favorite steak house after the hunt and I left the meg and angy at the table. On my return our waitress asked if they were part of her tip.
