Cypress Gardens Fossil Show 2008
The Cypress Gardens Fossil Show will be held on February 23, 2008 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and will be held at Cypress Gardens in Berkeley County, SC, between Moncks Corner and Goose Creek. The theme of this year's show will be Camelot - the amazing pleistocene finds from Giant Cement from several years ago. I was lucky enough to be able to go hunt fossils at Giant cement and help with the effort for a few days, and the finds are amazing. Come see the biggest pleistocene discoveries outside of Florda on display!
There will be other presenters from all over the east coast, so be prepared to see some excellent fossils. Previous years' Cypress Gardens fossil show have always been popular, informative, and fun for the whole family. Experts will be there to help identify fossils for guests. What are you doing in the middle of winter anyway? Don't forget that while you're at Cypress Gardens, you can visit the gardens, tour the swamp, and see the animals. There are all kinds of wildlife on display including fish, snakes, and a few alligators I wouldn't want to run into while diving for teeth!
Black River Fossils has been ask to co-host this year's event, so I've pledged to get the word out. As always, there will be food and door prizes. A few Black River Fossils members will be among the presenters, so come by and say hi. |
