Lee Creek look a likes

Make no mistake the bay is not Lee Creek, but sometimes you can find teeth that have just "melted" out of the matrix.   These gems can be just as pristine and in some cases have a very similar color to the famous teeth from the south.

This mornings trip was very typical of what can be had on a semi productive 2 hour bay hunt.  Numbers of teeth were found with a couple of very nice makos.  One was good size for this beach and had a great color and one had a very interesting root...very thick and curved.  For a second I thought maybe I had found my first paraotodus!!   Nope!!

Some nice sand tigers, tigers, snaggletooth and a whole porpoise bone of some sorts was found.   No complaints here.

The blonde mako looks huge. It has to be at least 2 inchs. Your almost paraotodus pictured to the right of the large mako confuses me a little. As I brought up the 2nd picture I saw it looked like a cusplet on the left. That makes this tooth very weird in my book. anyway sweet finds! Glad to see you getting out more! good luk man---tony Content Quality : 9 of 10
