Fathers day findsMy wife asked me what I wanted to do this fathers day, so I took full advantage of this opportunity. I called my dad up and we both headed out to the bay to just relax.
Fishing, exploring, testing out his new homemade potato launcher (this thing is REALLY cool), and fossil hunting were all in the plans.
I timed it so my father would drop me off at a totally new cliff exposure about 45 minutes before low tide. We pulled our fishing boat up about 200 yards off shore and I dropped my kayak in. This was a little adventure of its own. I felt like Jac Cousteau launching from the Calypso in search of some treasure.
After making it to the beach I was surprised to find it mostly to myself. Two kids came by, but they were not looking for any fossils. The conditions were good and for a two hour hunt I was happy with my results. Good day for snaggletooth teeth. Also found some nice verts, couple of cows and a large dermal plate.
I made my way back out to the Parker and boarded the back platform succesfully. This is a very cool way to search the bay for fossils. Good hunting Chris
