Dumb Luck

It was a beautiful morning to wake up and smell the fresh dirt piles and squalid pools of rainwater at the new pit. The best part of it all was that there were no footprints in site. All the rain lately has washed the heck out of the piles and I had another one of those great days hunting. I just couldn't stop picking up teeth. The best find of the day obviously was the big megalodon tooth, but how I found it is the cool part. I was bending down to pick up a fragment of a shark tooth and for some reason I stuck my finger down in the soft mud. About 3 inches below the surface I felt something flat... and serrated... and big. I nervously uncovered more and more tooth as I got deeper. I finally got to the end and I had a muddy but otherwise massive shark tooth in my hand. I was totally stoked, but I have to admit that there was no skill at all involved in the find of the year so far. It was just dumb luck. Who cares how I got it, though, because its in my nerdly hands right now.

Its hard to believe, but this is all from a land site. Its about as much as I bring home from a dive!
