The Heat is On

We had an immense amount of rain on Tuesday of this past week, so today we definitely were going someplace where we could just walk to pick up teeth. We decided to give Top Secret a rest and went to Super Pit instead. And for a change, we went in the early afternoon. All the gates were open as an added bonus, so we didn't have to bike in. Good thing, too, because it was a scorcher! The heat index was over 100 today, so we probably shouldn't have been outside to begin with, but we couldn't stay away. I knew the rain would rinse out some goodies, and after only 30 minutes, I had proven myself right. I found the best meg I have from this spot with its blade pointing skyward - it was a great photo op, but since my backpack broke last week, I couldn't bring my camera today. You'll just have to take my word for it. By then, though, tha duDe already gave up walking and had started digging. He was finding lots of stuff, but I didn't want to call off the walk yet. About 20 feet from him, I found the awesome little meg, and then I started digging. We dug for about an hour more after that, but by then, we were both out of water and the breeze had stopped blowing. We had been steadily founding teeth, but the heat had beaten the resolve out of us and after only two and a half hours, we were content with our finds and were ready to go.
