Two days of digging near AntwerpSunday 13th & Monday 14th of April, a location near Antwerp.
Ones or twice a year I have the opportunity to take of from work and drive from Norway al the way down to Belgium and the Netherlands.
My favorite place in the Netherlands was going threw a bad period of stones and boulders, and no teeth. So luckily we got permission to visit a location near Antwerp.
Here they spray up loads of sand (and fossils) but big pieces like Megalodons or whalebones often are broken due to a long hard travel through the pipes.
The first day I found quite some mako’s , but the second day started of perfect. The first tooth I picked up from my screen was a Parotodus benedeni! It is a shame one of the root lobes was missing a small piece, but hey who’s complaining? I kept on digging until I saw the outlines of a Meg. Would it be a complete one? No……, it wasn’t. But for this location a pretty good find. You guys probably trip over pieces like this one, but here in Europe that’s quite a different matter, hahaha.
A couple of hours later my good friend Paul came along, and we did very well the rest of the day, just look at the pics!
Take care everybody and good hunting!
